Why Choose Dr. Ferrera?

I was born in Lima, Peru, and raised in Miami. I have always had a passion for learning and a deep curiosity about the mind. This love of knowledge guided me through my academic journey. After graduating high school I stayed close to home attending the University of Miami where I earned dual bachelor's degrees in Neuroscience and Economics. My time there not only deepened my love for science but also turned me into a proud Hurricanes fan.

Driven by my desire to become a physician my path led me to Indiana University School of Medicine. There, I completed both my medical school and residency, gaining extensive training and a wide array of clinical experiences. As part of the research track, I had the privilege of publishing several manuscripts and a book chapter in psychiatric genetics, further honing my expertise in mental health. I truly enjoyed the Midwest but my family and the sunny weather brought me back to Florida, this time settling in Boca Raton.

Today, I am thrilled to be practicing psychiatry in Florida, where I combine my passion for science and  people to offer personalized and compassionate care. My approach is always patient-centered, focusing on creating a safe space where individuals feel heard, respected, and supported. I believe in tailoring treatment plans to each unique person, blending the latest research with a holistic understanding of mental health.
